Bus With College Students Overturns in US State of Virginia, Injures 33

At least 33 students from three Virginia universities were injured after a bus carrying 49 passengers overturned late on Sunday near the US city of Chesterfield, local media reported, citing emergency services.

According to NBC News, only one person was critically wounded.

Other passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries "that would be consistent with a vehicle accident," Lt. Jason Elmore, a spokesman for Chesterfield County Fire and Emergency Medical Services, was quoted as saying by the broadcaster.

At least five engine companies, eight ambulances and an emergency transport bus have been immediately sent to the accident site.
