Nardaran residents have closed the road from Mashtaga to their township.
The people armed with stones and sticks, said Trend’s correspondent from the scene. Reportedly, law enforcement officers are at the scene as well.
Previously, four members of a criminal group, operating under the guise of religion, were killed during a police operation in Nardaran. Two police officers were also killed in the standoff.
Fourteen members of the criminal group were arrested along with the group’s head Tale Baghirov.
Nardaran is located 25 km north of Baku.
