On 28 July 2015, Azerbaijan issued an international arrest warrant for Russian businessman German Sterligov. The Investigation Department on Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General`s Office continues the investigation into the criminal case on German Sterligov, head of the Board of Directors of German Sterligov Group of Companies and others, who illegally crossed into the occupied territories avoiding checkpoints under articles 281.2 and 318.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against Sterligov upon the decision of the Nasimi District Court as there is sufficient evidence to charge him.
