China increases purchase of Turkmen gas
As of early November, 2015, the accumulate volume of exported gas from Turkmenistan to China reached 121 billion cubic meters, including 82 billion cubic meters produced by "Turkmengas" state concern and 39 billion cubic meters produced in "Bagtiyarlyk" contract area, said the message of the Chinese CNPC.
The agreement regarding “Bagtiyarlyk” contract area with production capacity of 13 billion cubic meters per year was signed July 17, 2007.

With the developing of gas field and commissioning of gas processing plant No 2, the production capacity of project in “Bagtiyarlyk” contract area was increasing with years, the message said.

The “turnkey” EPC contract for development of the 2nd phase of Galkynysh gas field with production capacity of 30 billion cubic meters per year was signed September 3, 2013.

Currently, the production capacity reached the daily production of 42 million cubic meters. The accumulated investment in the project in “Bagtiyarlyk” contract area has already reached $5.56 billion.

China National Petroleum Corporation has started purchasing gas from this region since 2009 after the commissioning of first two branches (A and B) from Turkmenistan through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The third branch (C) running on this route has been commissioned recently.

Currently, work is underway to construct the additional fourth branch (D) on the new route through Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
