Azerbaijani health minister signs order on swine flu
Azerbaijani Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev has signed an order strengthening preventive measures against swine flu as the disease spread in neighboring Iran.
According to the order, heads of medical departments and institutions in cities and districts are instructed to raise awareness of medical staff about the swine flu.

The order also envisages allocation of special wards for suspected flu patients, especially children and elderly persons, applying restrictive regime in medical institutions if necessary, provision of medical staff with personal protectors, paying special attention to disinfection.

The order includes immediate delivery to local hygienic and epidemiological centers of any information of complicated respiratory disease, delivery of samples taken from suspected patients to the Republican Anti-Plague Station, city and district hygienic and epidemiological centers tightening control on compliance with hygienic norms and the disinfection regime in densely-populated areas.

It is noted that the epidemiological situation is completely stable and is under strict control. No infection case has been detected among the population.
