US closes its Consulate General in Istanbul

US closes its Consulate General in Istanbul

United States temporarily closed the Consulate General in Istanbul and tightened up its security because of the threat of terrorist attack, the Turkish Haber 7 TV channel reports.

The United States took this step because of the danger of a terrorist attack that can be made by the terrorist organization "Islamic State".
