Meetings to be held with partner companies to accelerate TANAP
“According to agreement between Turkey and Russia, Russia export 30 bcm of gas to Turkey per year. Currently, BOTAS is minimally purchasing 26 bcm of natural gas”, CEO at TANAP Saltuk Duzyol said on Dec. 14.

Reminding Turkey’s importing 6 bcm of natural gas from Azerbaijan per year, Duzyol noted that this figure will double to 12 bcm after launch of TANAP: “So, we can say that the gas exported by Russia to Turkey will be reduced from 54 bcm to 30%”.

The CEO added that the works on TANAP are carried out in accordance with the schedule: “Even, acceleration of TANAP construction is on the agenda. Over 550 km works have been carried out within the project. Meeting will be held with the partner companies to accelerate the construction. TANAP is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor. The main point in this issue is to determine the gas tariffs with the producing companies. If all of these are realized, the project will be completed sooner. In any case, we hope that the project will be completed in 2018”.

According to him, TANAP is important not only for Turkey, but also for EU countries.
