US Congress approves oil export
The US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill to keep government agencies open and funded through September 2016 and lift the 40-year-old ban on US crude oil exports, Reuters news agency reported Dec.18
The vote sends the landmark fiscal bill to President Barack Obama for signing into law. The White House, which helped negotiate the package, has said Obama supports it.
