When Rocco Ritchie refused to board a plane from the UK where his famous filmmaker dad lives, Madonna immediately sought justice in the Manhattan Supreme Court.
A New York court delivered a judgment in favor of Madonna, however Ritchie Junior has been in no haste to obey the court decision. His lawyer hinted that Rocco would not return to the US of his own volition.
"He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York," Richie`s attorney Eric Buckley told judge Deborah Kaplan.
A source close to the case said that Rocco might not fulfill Kaplan`s conditions.
"This is a 15½-year-old strapping young kid, so we`ll see," the Post cited a source as saying.
The source also observed that Rocco who had been traveling with his mother all over the world during her Rebel Heart tour for the last two months, and simply "didn`t want to stay with her," as he "not getting along with his mom."
Rocco Ritchie has his own attorney in London, where a pending court is undergoing.
According to Judge Kaplan, the celebrity son could obtain a court-appointed lawyer in the New York custody case, where he could say whether he prefers to stay with his dad, Guy Ritchie or his famous mom. Kaplan underscored that Rocco`s return to New York is obligatory.
The dispute was settled in New York, where Guy and Madonna, parents of two, divorced in 2009 after seven years of marriage.
After the hearing Kaplan told the "Material Girl" performer to discuss the case with her ex-husband prior to their return to court in the coming weeks.
