U.S. not serious in fighting against ISIL, Iranian FM says
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the United States is not serious in its fight against the ISIL Takfiri militants yet.

Zarif also accused the U.S. of adopting double standards on confronting the ISIL in Iraq and Syria, Iran`s Mehr News Agency reported on September 7.

"The US has supported the group in Syria and therefore cannot decide about fighting it in Iraq now," he said.

He went on to add that Iran has always been aware of the ISIL threat to the region.

"Iran has supported the Iraqi people ever since the militant group emerged in their country," the Iranian minister added.

"The ISIL threatens all countries in the Middle East," he stressed, adding that international cooperation is needed to counter the threat.
