Approved under the order of the Presidential Administration, the document envisages holding of 20 January conferences, meetings, lectures, performance of plays, displaying of films and documentaries, extensive media coverage of the tragedy, holding different events at Azerbaijani embassies, diplomatic offices, diaspora organizations, and communities in foreign countries as well as preparation of 20 January materials for foreign TV channels, information agencies, networks.
According to the plan, special lessons dedicated to the tragedy will be held in all schools, families of the 20 January martyrs will be given humanitarian aid, and necessary work will be carried out in the Alley of Martyrs, religious confessions in Azerbaijan will hold ceremonies to commemorate the victims.
The order also includes a visit to the Alley of Martyrs on January 20, a minute of silence to commemorate the victims at 12:00, signaling of ships, cars and trains, playing of mourning music in the Alley of Martyrs, lowering of national flags in villages and towns as a symbol of mourning, etc.
