Azerbaijan appoints coordinating body and experts to UNODC
Azerbaijan has decided to appoint a working group of the State Commission against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking as the coordinating body to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on World Drug Problem 2016 of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Experts from relevant agencies of Azerbaijan were also appointed to the UNODC.

Azerbaijan has taken such a decision with a view of contributing to the UNODC in the implementation of the organization’s initiative aimed at raising awareness on the importance of taking significantly grounded measures for the prevention of drug abuse.

Employees of the relevant agencies will take part in a series of events related to the UN General Assembly Special Session on World Drug Problem 2016 of UNODC.
