Truck-train collision kills 3 in central Thailand
At least three people were killed and over 30 others injured when a cattle-carrying truck crashed into a running train in central Thailand`s Phetchaburi province on Friday morning, local media reported.
At least five carriages of the No.255 passenger train on Thon Buri-Lang Suan route derailed after the collision happened at a rail crossing around 10:30 a.m. local time.

Those confirmed dead include the truck driver and a monk, and the injured have been hospitalized.

The collision, the cause of which has yet to be determined, also damaged 200-meter concrete sleeper.

The incident forced railway officials to stop two south-bound trains from Bangkok at Cha-am railway station and transfer all passengers by buses to Phetchaburi to continue their journey to Lang Suan in southern Chumphon Province.
