President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree Jan. 11 declaring 2016 the Year of Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan to maintain, further develop and promote the traditions of multiculturalism.
“This decision makes Azerbaijan socially progressive country, which protects human rights and contributes to the development of pluralism,” Tase told on Jan. 11.
“Azerbaijan is an example of contribution to the eradication of conflicts and the development of multicultural dialogue,” he said. “This decision contributes to further preservation of special cultural values and tolerance of the Azerbaijani people.”
