Nearly 810 kg of drugs seized in Azerbaijan in 2015

Over the past year, about 810 kilograms of drugs have been seized on 2,935 crime cases in Azerbaijan, says the 2015 report by the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking under the Interior Ministry.
According to the report, the seized drugs include 575 kg (70.9 percent) of marihuana, 138 kg (17.1 percent) of opium, 38 kg (4.8 percent) of heroin, 15 kg (1.9 percent) of hashish, 41 kg (5.1 percent) of different types of drugs and 369 grams of psychotropic substances. This figure is higher compared to the previous year.
