Russian delegation refuses to take part in PACE winter session
The Russian delegation decided not to go on the first of the year session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which opens next week in Strasbourg.
The decision not final, and was accepted by the leaders of both houses of Parliament with the support of all factions.

"Discussion of Russian participation unfolded at the Friday meeting of the Security Council that was attended by both the speaker (Valentina Matviyenko and Sergei Naryshkin). The foreign Ministry issued a report, which presented several options, including options not to go at all or go, but in part. However, there is no guarantee that Russia will return powers, which it lacks in PACE. We don’t want to go to Strasbourg to get another political flip-flops", — told RBC source in the state Duma.

According to the interlocutor of the portal, consider the option that if on 25 January, the Assembly will return Russia the powers, the part of delegations will appear in Strasbourg in this session. However, such an outcome is unlikely.
