Azerbaijani president: Necessary to tackle artificial price hike
It’s necessary to tackle artificial price hike in the country, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Jan.18.

He made the remarks at the meeting dedicated to solving economic and social issues in the country.

The head of state said bargains are trying to artificially inflate prices.

“The prices of flour and bread have significantly decreased as a result of the measures taken. It is a social initiative. We are carrying out these measures by taking into account first of all the situation of poor people. In the future, we will try to ensure transparency in this area,” noted Aliyev.

Those who are intending to take advantage of this situation for their personal, economic or political interests will be punished, the president warned. Provocateurs are severely punished and will be punished, he added.

“We will defend the achievements Azerbaijan made in recent years and will ensure the rapid development of the country,” Aliyev said, stressing that none will be allowed to take advantage of this situation for personal benefits.
