“Currently, the main transhipments are carried out in the port located in the city’s center. Shipment of goods, which are transported via railway, is carried out from the Alat terminal,” Ziyadov said.
“A new RO-RO (roll-on/roll-off) terminal will be constructed in Alat until the end of 2016, enabling to tranship heavy trucks,” he added.
“This is a very important factor, since these trucks’ entering the city creates serious problems. So, their shipment from the Alat port has great importance,” said Ziyadov.
