Moldovan opposition urges Constitutional Court to annul PM appointment
The opposition Socialist Party of Moldova on Thursday urged the country
Protests against President Nicolae Timofti`s decision to nominate Pavel Filip, the minister of informational technologies and communications, for the post of the country’s prime minister, continue in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau. A corresponding decree was signed on Wednesday.

"We demand the annulment of yesterday’s vote in the parliament," socialist leader Igor Dodon said during a rally, demanding that the court consider the party’s request immediately.

Since early September 2015, major anti-government protests have gripped the Moldovan capital of Chisinau.

Activists have been demanding the resignation of the Moldovan president, prime minister and the chief prosecutor, while also calling for early parliamentary elections and prompt action to tackle corruption
