Magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurs in Afghanistan
A 5.0-magnitude earthquake on Saturday occurred in the north-eastern region of Afghanistan, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
Tremors were registered at 4:54 GMT in the north-eastern region of Afghanistan, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter was located about eight miles west of Ashkasham village at the depth of approximately 56 miles.

No information about the damage or casualties was immediately available.
