OSCE PA VP regrets for refusal to send observers to Azerbaijan elections
The members of the Azerbaijani parliament`s delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly met with the organization
The Azerbaijani parliament told that head of Azerbaijan’s delegation to OSCE PA, Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova spoke about the cooperation between the OSCE and Azerbaijan at the meeting.

She noted that Azerbaijan is not only a full member of the OSCE, but also the most active promoter of the establishment of the organization’s values in the region. She said the election for the 5th convocation of the Azerbaijani parliament was successfully held and familiarized the delegation with newly-elected MPs.

The vice-speaker noted that the Minsk Group did not take any step towards the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during the conflict. She underlined the importance of the organization`s increasing efforts for the development of cooperation and ensuring security in the region.

OSCE PA Vice-President George Tsereteli conveyed greetings of OSCE PA President Ilkka Kanerva, and expressed regret for having been unable to join this visit due to health problems.

The guest said the OSCE is of the main organizations observing elections in member countries, expressing regret for the unpleasing fact that the OSCE did not send observers to the elections in Azerbaijan. He said the OSCE views Azerbaijan as one of the most valuable countries, adding that he believes relations after this meeting will strengthen even further as a result of mutual efforts.
