The SCC chairman noted that customs service has been independent in Azerbaijan: “There are some countries that customs authorities operate under Ministries of Finance and Economy. In the US, the customs and border authorities have been merged. In Azerbaijan, Russia and other CIS countries, the customs agencies operate independently”.
“Since 1992, the State Customs Committee has been operating as a Ministry. I think the time proves that independent body develops more”, he said.
