The Speaker highlighted relations between the two countries, saying Azerbaijan was interested in developing relations with European countries, as well as with Sweden. He stressed the importance of development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Ogtay Asadov emphasized the significance of reciprocal visits for further enhancing the relations between the two countries.
The speaker provided an insight into cause and consequences of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “Armenia has not fulfilled the requirements of international documents adopted for solving the conflict.” He added. Ogtay Asadov expressed regret that Azerbaijan faced with double standards in settlement of the problem, saying, “The efforts must be increased in this regard.”
Margot Wallstrom expressed assurance that Azerbaijani-Swedish relations would further develop over the future.

Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov bas said parliamentary diplomacy played an importance role in developing-Azerbaijani-Swedish relations as he met Scandinavian country`s Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom.
