Putin meeting with German chancellor in Milan
Russian President Vladimir Putin missed a scheduled meeting Thursday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe meeting in Milan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Milan.
The meeting started at 01:12 a.m. Moscow time. Initially, the meeting was scheduled to be held earlier. But it was postponed due to the change in the Russian president’s schedule.
On Thursday, October 16, Putin arrived in Milan to take part in the 10th Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit. The summiteers are expected to focus on the Ukrainian settlement and the gas issue. Putin is planning to discuss these issues with his Western colleagues during separate meetings.
Putin arrived in Italy from Serbia where he held talks with the country’s leaders and took part in the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from Nazis.
