Turkish Gendarmes Find Explosives in Town Bordering
The Turkish Gendarmerie officers have found 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of explosives in a mostly ethnic Arab town of Akcakale, located in the south-east of the country on the border with Syria, local media reported Monday.
Four suspicious rucksacks packed with plastic explosives were found in a field, the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper said.

A group of combat engineers with dogs has been dispatched at the scene.

The gendarmerie has launched the searches for the suspected owners of the backpacks.
