Three NIDA members, one human rights defender pardoned by President Ilham Aliyev
Thee members of NIDA Civic Movement—Shahin Novruzlu, Bakhtiyar Guliyev, Elsever Mursalli—and a human rights defender, Hasan Huseynli, have been released under a pardon order issued by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

They have recently asked president for pardon.

The president’s pardon order pertains to 5 foreign citizens as well. Turkish citizen Bektaş İlbeyi Yusuf İzzetin oghlu, Iranian citizens Imrahi Tohid Ali oghlu and Mohammadzadeh Saed Moshtaba oghlu, Georgian citizen Naibov Jalal Jamal oghlu and Pakistani citizen Zada Amir Sher have been pardoned.

There are also three women among those released under the president’s order.

On October 17, President Ilham Aliyev issued an order pardoning 84 convicts.
