Up to 20% preference to be applied to local goods in tenders in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued an order on application of law on amendments to the law “On Public Procurement” adopted Jan.19 by the country’s parliament.

The Cabinet of Ministers is to draw up proposals on conformation of the laws and Azerbaijani President’s acts with the order during three months, provide conformation of the Cabinet’s normative legal acts with the order during three months, keep under the control the conformation of normative legal acts of the central executive authorities with the order and inform Azerbaijani President about fulfillment during 5 months.

The Ministry of Justice is to provide the conformation of normative legal and normative acts of central executive authorities with the law “On Public Procurement” and inform the Cabinet of Ministers about it.

According to the amendment, the article #36.9 of the law was edited as follows: “When tender proposals are assessed and compared, a preferential correction up to 20% of offered prices of same goods imported from abroad is applied in favor of tender proposals on local goods (works and services) meeting basic conditions of tender.

When proposals for services are assessed and compared, a procurement agency applies preferential correction in favor of local service providers in accordance with regulations article #36.10 of this law.
