838 people aged over 100 live in Azerbaijan

838 people aged over 100 live in Azerbaijan

The vast majority of people over 100 are women

At present, 838 people aged over 100 live in Azerbaijan. Responding to APA`s questionnaire, the State Statistical Committee said that the vast majority of them are women (814- women, 24 - men). 56 people aged over 100 live in capital Baku. There are no men over 100 in the capital. 5 people (women) over 100 live in Absheron economic district.

The situation is different in Azerbaijan`s regions. Upper Karabakh economic region ranks the 1st in this list, 258 people (14-men, 244-women) over 100 live there. 174 people (only women) over 100 live in Ganja-Kazakh region, 120 people (only women) in Lowland region, 103 people (3-men, 100-women) in Kalbajar-Lachin region, 48 people (7-men, 41-women) in Nakhchivan, 25 people (only women) in Lankaran, 11 people (only women) in Guba-Khachmaz region and 5 (only women) in Sheki-Zagatala region.
