A home with a horrible history that includes scary poltergeist activity has been put on the market for
While it looks a picture perfect example of Antebellum architecture on the outside this 159-year-old 13,369 square feet home is harbouring some dark and disturbing secrets.

The guest house, which was owned by a Tina Turner impersonator, has regular visits from a Voodoo priestess in a bid to keep patrons safe from harm after it was discovered to be haunted.

In this footage, ghost experts take a tour of the New Orleans house called Magnolia Mansion, which was once the headquarters for the American Red Cross during World War II and the Korean War.

Designed by architect James H. Calrow it was commissioned for a wealthy cotton owner who was struck down and killed by yellow fever.

It was sold by his grieving widow to John Henry Maginnis, but, according to Top Ten Real Estate Deals he was struck by lightning and killed.

Since then it has changed hands on numerous occasions and has been noted for its hauntings - including a friendly ghost called called `The Caretaker.`

Set in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans and close the site where a Turkish sultan was slaughtered along with his harem, it is said to be filled with spooks.

According to the book Ghosts along the Mississippi River by Alan Brown, there is a ghost who turns glasses of water upside down and another one who likes to play eerie tunes from a non-existent music box.

He also mentions `The Caretaker,` a ghost who is believed to tuck unsuspecting visitors in at night and rearrange their pillows.

Indeed one couple of visited the mansion had a very unusual incident in the nighttime.

Dr Steve and Nicky Davis left a message in the guest book saying: "We stayed in the Vamps Bordello room.

"Friday night when we went to bed my husband and I placed our shoes in the closet (total of 6 pairs) when we woke up the next morning one of my flip flops was in the bathroom.

"The other one was placed underneath our bed.

"Saturday night: we bought a 19th century antique piece the piece weighted approximately 40 pounds.

"Before bed I placed the piece on our table in our room.

"The table is of metal construction, around 3 or 4 am my husband and I awakened to a noise.

"It sounded as if a piece of furniture was being drug across the hard wood floors.

"We looked around and seen nothing. Approximately 4hours later the alarm went off and we both look at our statue.

"The statue was placed vertical on the table before bed. The statue was now faced completely sideways.

"My husband and I turned the statue back into its previous position in order to see if that was the dragging noise we were awakened to, and it was!

"Once again my shoes were misplaced one brown shoe was tucked in between 2 pillows that were placed on the floor from the bed and another black shoe at the foot of the bed!

"Saturday I also awakened and found both pillows stacked neatly at the end of the bed.

"Pillow belonging the mansion, belonging to me my pillow weighs about 5 pounds. The pillow is used for medical purposes, that is why I woke up looking for my pillow."
