The accident took place at around 3 p.m. local time when the plane was going to take off on the runway, said Japan`s public broadcaster NHK, adding that a female passenger was suffered minor injure in her waist during the evacuation.
The company is investigating into the cause of the smoke detected in the right side engine.
Local reports also said that weather was worsening when the flight was going to depart from the airport.

A total of 165 passengers and crew members on board a Japan Air Lines (JAL) flight bounded for Fukuoka were evacuated immediately after smoke spotted in the Boeing 737 airplane at the New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, according to local reports.
