Deputy Director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasraddin Tusi of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Khidir Mikayilov told that the solar eclipse will start at 00:40 Baku time and end at 04:52 on October 24.
The eclipse will last for 4 hours 12 minutes. The eclipse will reach maximum at 02:46. The solar eclipse will be observed in North America and Russia’s regions nearby Alaska. As it occurs at night, the solar eclipse will invisible in Azerbaijan.
Mikayilov said that this will be the second solar eclipse of 2014.
He informed that two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses were expected in this year. One solar eclipse and two lunar eclipses have already occurred. The first lunar eclipse occurred on April 15, the second on October 8 and the first solar eclipse was recorded on April 29.
