Azerbaijani Art and Culture Days held in U.S. Department of State, October 24.
Days of Azerbaijani culture and art have been successfully conducted at US Department of State, with the initiative of AAFSW (The Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide) organization, October 24. Representatives of the Azerbaijan Embassy in US and US officials together with their family members also took part in the ceremony. The event was held at the Dean Acheson Auditorium at the State Department.

The President of AAFSW Patricia Linderman and program manager of the organization Sheila Switzer made opening speeches. Sheila Switzer emphasized the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and US in the sphere of culture. She said such events bring peoples of both countries closer.

Then Azerbaijani Ambassador Elin Suleimanov gave information about Azerbaijan’s culture, music and ancient, rich history of the people. He mentioned the role of the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in the development of the Azerbaijani culture and art, as well as amazing Azerbaijani mugham which is very popular in the world.

A video material on national culture and art was also demonstrated during the ceremony. The guests were able to taste Azerbaijan national meals.
