Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has responded to Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s claims.
“The latest empty speech full of political terms that Seyran Ohanyan, who is known for his cruelty and relentless crimes against Azerbaijani civilians, gave addressing international audience indicates the complete irresponsibility and hypocrisy of Armenian military and political officials who do not foresee the future of their people.
“The only solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict lies in the complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from occupied Azerbaijani territories. There are two ways to solve the problem: either Armenia abides by the norms and principles of international law or our Armed Forces must drive the invaders out of our lands in order to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” the ministry said.
Seyran Ohanian stated that Armenia supports the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and that he is taking steps in that direction.
The minister stressed that Azerbaijan also rejects international proposals for the introduction of mechanisms to investigate ceasefire violations and constantly strains the situation on the frontline.
He added that current military-political situation doesn’t imply about large-scale military operations.
