All Baku buildings in poor condition to be demolished
The Cabinet of Minister has made a decision on additional measures to accelerate the socio-economic development of the Surakhani, Nasimi, Khatai, Narimanov, Nizami, Yasamal, Sabail, Pirallahi, and Khazar districts of Baku.
The decision is intended to continue renovation work in those districts, demolish buildings in disrepair and replace them with new ones, and improve the living conditions of residents of buildings in poor condition.

In compliance with the requirements of civil, housing, urban planning and construction laws, according to the decision, in the five years ahead, the executive powers in these areas are to prepare and endorse in agreement with the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of territorial planning documents for the demolition of damaged buildings that do not fit the general view of the city and do not meet the standards of urban development, as well as other buildings unfit for living in them, non-residential social facilities and other purposes. In addition, the executive authorities must consent to the drafting of new residential and commercial buildings, building permits, and putting them into operation, and to provide for permanent use and lease of land in state ownership.

Note that, the Cabinet of Ministers had taken an analogous decision about the Sabuncu, Binagadi, and Garadagh districts. By this means, all residential and non-residential buildings in poor condition will be demolished in 5 years.
