Azerbaijani President issues order on reforms in customs system
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has issued an order on additional measures for continuation of reforms in the customs system.

APA reports that the State Customs Committee is to:

-reduce official-citizen contact to minimum and provide reception of customs declarations in e-form in accordance with the Customs Code within two months;

-in connection with the rendering e-service, provide reciprocal exchange of e-information with the separate state bodies in relevant areas; in order to increase the effectiveness of customs control, improve automatized management system of risks using modern technological equipments existing in the customs area;

-in order to accelerate the goods circulation through the customs border, provide creation of condition to pass goods through customs borders on the basis of veterinary, phytosanitary and other certificates, documents given by the exporting country and inform relevant state bodies about this electronically;

-in order to eliminate waste of time, provide control of short import declaration and attached veterinary, phytosanitary and other certificates, documents and special license granted for circulation of goods, of which civil circulation was limited, and let the goods in the customs territory on the basis of result of control;

-take relevant measures to increase competitiveness and effectiveness of corridors passing through Azerbaijan’s territory, involve additional transit cargos in these corridors, as well as increase quality of cargo transportations, reduce time of delivery of the cargos.
