“After the downing of an Armenian helicopter in the territory of Aghdam District yesterday, flights of helicopters and other aircraft on the opposite side of the front line has ceased”, Defense Ministry Spokesperson, Colonel Vagif Dargahli told APA.
Vaqif Dargahli noted that no other flight has been observed over Azerbaijan’s occupied territories after the incident and today.
The ministry spokesperson added that Azerbaijan’s entire airspace is under the full control of the Air Forces.
“Our Air Forces have the most up-to-date equipments to strike those who violate our air borders. According to international documents as well as the International Civil Aviation Organization, all flights over the occupied territories are regarded as violation of our country’s air borders”, he said.
Dargahli said there was an increase in the number of ceasefire violations by the Armenian Armed Forces throughout the day but noted that it wasn’t that intensive.
“Some mass media outlets reported that fierce battles are going on in that direction. This is untrue. The Azerbaijani Army will prevent all provocative attempts of the enemy,” he concluded.
