At least 9 Cuban migrants die off Florida coast ahead of Obama visit
At least 9 migrants from Cuba died and 18 other were rescued off Marco Island in south-west Florida, media reported Sunday.
The Sky News reported, citing the US Coast Guard, the vessel with migrants, floating for 22 days, was noticed by a cruise ship.

The 18 survivors, who according to the news outlet, were suffering from severe dehydration for the moment they were rescued, reported that nine other had died.

The incidents took place ahead of President Barack Obama`s scheduled historical visit to Cuba starting on Monday. Obama is expected to meet with Cuban President Raul Castro to discuss a range of issues, including progress on restoring diplomatic ties and commercial opportunities between the United States and Cuba.
