Turkey to ensure security in KRG in northern Iraq

Turkey to ensure security in KRG in northern Iraq

Turkey will make every effort to ensure security in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq, TRT Haber TV channel quoted Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu as saying on Nov.21.

He made the remarks during the official visit to KRG.

Davutoglu said stability in the Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq means stability in Turkey.

The prime minister added that Turkey is ready to train the Peshmerga fighters [special forces subordinate to the KRG].

Davutoglu said that Ankara and Arbil are bound by historical relations.
