Azerbaijan, Argentine discuss cooperation prospects
Azerbaijan-Argentina Joint Working Group on trade and economic cooperation has discussed current state of and prospects of economic, trade, investment cooperation between the two countries as the Group held its first meeting in Buenos Aires.
A delegation led by Working Group co-chair, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahil Babayev represented Azerbaijan at the meeting.

The meeting discussed possible joint projects on agriculture, food processing, high technology, energy and pharmaceutical sectors. Expressing the importance of strengthening regulatory and legal framework for the development of economic relations, the sides stressed the continued efforts in this direction.

Babayev hailed the development strategy of Azerbaijan, strategic energy and infrastructure projects carried out at the initiative and participation of Azerbaijan.

Speaking to the meeting, Co-chair of the Working Group, Secretary of State for International Economic Relations of Argentina, Carlos Bianco expressed gratitude for the support of Azerbaijan as the only country in the South Caucasus region to adopt the UN General Assembly’s resolution on "The sovereign debt on the establishment of a multilateral legal framework” which has been held in September current year.

A report on the results of Azerbaijan-Argentina first meeting of the Joint Working Group on trade and economic cooperation was inked at the end of meeting.

The sides also agreed to hold the next meeting of Working Group on trade and economic cooperation in Azerbaijan.

In the framework of visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held a range of meetings in Argentina, had comprehensive discussions on expansion of economic relations between the two countries, as well as industrial cooperation and implementation of joint projects and prospects of boosting relations.
