Tabare Vazquez has won Uruguay’s runoff presidential election, returning to power after a five-year break, according to official data published by the Electoral Court (election commission) of the South American republic.
After 78.5% of the ballots have been processed, the ruling left coalition Broad Front candidate is gaining 52.4% of the vote. His rival - right-wing National Party nominee Luis Lacalle Pou has 42.4%.
