Lufthansa cancels 1,350 flights due to pilots strike
The strike will last for two days, December 1 and 2, and affect around 150 thousand passengers, including those travelling to and from Russia
German Lufthansa airline canceled 1,350 flights because of a two-day strike of the pilots, the carrier website reported.

The strike will affect 150 thousand passengers. All flights in Munich and Frankfurt airports wil be canceled on December 1 and 2 from 12.00 to 23.00 local time (14.00 to 1.00 MSK).

According to the list published on Lufthansa website, among the canceled are 12 flights from Germany to Moscow and 12 flights from the Russian capital, 8 flights to St. Petersburg and 8 back to Germany, one flight to Samara and Nizhny Novgorod and back.

The pilots union demands changes to the existing tariff agreement. Organization, in particular, is aganist the Lufthansa leadership`s plans to increase the existing pilots age limit for early retirement from the current 59 to 61 years.

This will be the ninth wave of strikes over the past few months, during which the tariff dispute lasts.
