Armenia parliament says "no" to Electoral Code amendments
The amendments to the Electoral Code of Armenia, which the non-government National Assembly (NA) forces had proposed, did not pass by a mere five votes.
The proposal did not pass by a vote of 59 against, 54 for, and 4 abstentions at Tuesday’s parliamentary session.

Solely the ruling Republican NA Faction MPs said “no” to these amendments, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the parliament.

The other five factions approved this proposal.

The proposed amendments to the Electoral Code envisioned a transition to a 100-percent proportional parliamentary election system in Armenia.
