In the period from 2005 to 2008, she worked as ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, from 2008 to 2011 - in Armenia.
It is noted that in 2012, Jovanovich has served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and in Asian affairs bureau.
She also worked in the US diplomatic missions in Mogadishu (Somalia), London (UK), Moscow (Russia) and Ottawa (Canada).
