Armenian parliament ratifies agreement on joining EAU
The parliament of Armenia ratified the agreement on accession of the country to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAU) Dec. 4, the Russian news agency said.

Some 103 MPs voted for the document, seven MPs were against it, and three MPs abstained from voting.

Earlier, Armenia’s Constitutional Court recognized the agreement as corresponding to the Fundamental Law of Armenia.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed in May and ratified the agreement on establishment of the EAU starting from Jan. 1, 2015.

On Oct. 10, an agreement was signed in Minsk, Belarus, for Armenia’s joining the EAU.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAU) is an economic union, which is being created as part of the Eurasian integration on the basis of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
