The conference was attended by delegations from 14 countries of Europe and Asia.
“Turkmenistan has huge possibilities and prospects for wide use of renewable energy aimed at decrease of negative influence of industry on environment and health of people, level of harmful emissions in atmosphere,” said the newspaper article.
Turkmen scientists presented wide spectrum of thematic reports, which told about possibilities of use of solar energy at motor transport enterprises, economic efficiency of use of renewable energy, elaboration of automation for alternative energy sources, possibilities of getting of thermal energy from used-up deep wells and others.
In 2012, it was reported that the Turkmen Academy of Sciences received the first sample of technical silicon from quartz sand using solar energy. Furthermore, the country`s scientists developed autonomous solar-wind complex capable to provide remote pastures in the desert conditions with water and energy within a year.
There is the solar desalination plant, as well as the facility caring out autonomous supply of hot water, and solar greenhouse with heat-keeping ground among other developments. The production solar batteries for export may be launched in Turkmenistan, according to the international experts.
This process could begin with the production of raw material (mono-crystalline or poly-crystalline silicon) in Turkmenistan with the advantage that the energy required for the production of silicon is quite cheap due to the vast oil and gas resources, even in medium-sized fields.
The source close to the work implemented in this sphere told Trend that Turkmenistan plans to establish a large-scale wind and solar energy complexes, whose composition will include solar photo-voltaic power plants, solar photobioreactors, dryers, desalination plants, wind-solar installation for waste disposal, solar collectors.
The autonomous complexes of this kind can provide livelihoods of entire villages and livestock farms.
The project on the study of production possibilities of silicon for solar photovoltaic cells is underway in Turkmenistan that will put the country on a par with the states that have obtained commercial production of technical silicon.
The length of sunny days reaches 16 hours in Turkmenistan in July. The energy of the sun rays falling on one square meter is 800 watts. There are approximately 300 sunny days in a year, and the duration of sunny days reaches 2500- 3000 hours a year.
