Azerbaijan`s SCO dialogue partner status approved
The memorandum for granting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) dialogue partner status to Azerbaijan was tabled at the plenary session of the country
The memorandum provides for cooperation strengthening peace and security in the region, as well as in the fight against illegal drug production and drug trafficking, cyber crimes, in the areas of ICT, agriculture, trade, investment and others.

Addressing the discussions, Samad Seyidov, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on international and inter-parliamentary relations, said that the document fully reflects Azerbaijan’s interests.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation with the SCO members, adding that Azerbaijan is able to represent the interests of Asia in Europe or those of Europe in Asia.

Then the document was put to vote and approved.
