Turkmen fleet replenishes with new fishing boats
Three fishing boats, built by Hong Kong Richie Company, Limited (China) in accordance with the order of the State Committee for Fishery of Turkmenistan arrived in the port of Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea Dec.5, a statement of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan said.
The statement noted that all three fishing boats have the same linear dimensions and technical specifications. The length of each is 45.5 meters, width - 10.5 meters and height - 14.5 meters. Displacement is 400 register tons. Carrying capacity is 100 metric tons. The duration of autonomous navigation is about 30 days.

Two boats - Balykchy and Garlavach are equipped for catching sprat, the third one, Bereket is a multifunctional.

The statement said that the catch at all three fishing boats will pass technological processing.

“Some 36 units of fresh-frozen fish 10 pounds each will be produced for three hours of work on boats in total,” said the statement.

Each fishing boat has two auxiliary engines to provide the work of the ship systems and one engine of the US "Caterpillar" with a capacity of 1,250 horsepower, which allows reaching speed of 13 knots, or more than 24 kilometers per hour.

The boats are equipped with satellite communication systems, highly sensitive sonar echo-sounders for search of fish stocks and meet all modern requirements of safety of navigation and environmental protection.

Turkmenistan headed for the intensification of maritime transport in recent years. In this view, the role of the port of Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea considerably increases.

It is planned to build additional berths, ship repair enterprise and a logistics center on its territory.
