Armenia continues to violate ceasefire regime
Armenian armed forces have 10 times violated the ceasefire with Azerbaijan on the line of contact over the past 24 hours, said Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry May 20.
Armenian Armed Forces stationed in the village of Barekamavan of Armenia`s Noyemberyan district and in the villages of Mosesgeh and Chinari of Armenia`s Berd district opened fire at the Azerbaijani positions located in the nameless heights in Gazakh district and Aghdam, Aghbulag villages of Tovuz district.

Further on, Azerbaijani positions were shelled from the nameless heights in the Goranboy district.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. The 1994 ceasefire agreement was followed by peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
