ANC bloc National Assembly Faction leader, ANC Party Vice-Chairman Levon Zurabyan said the aforementioned during a press conference on Monday.
Reflecting on the case of penalizing a police officer that had attacked a journalist during a ruling Republican Party (RPA) campaign meeting, Zurabyan noted that this is simply a ridiculous reaction.
“In reality, the Police are indulged in covering up this crime. They are attempting to keep the consequences of this crime away from the RPA.
“In deed, [Police Chief] Vladimir Gasparyan and the Police have not assumed the functions of upholding public order, [and] the law, but rather the function of upholding this regime, [and President] Serzh Sargsyan as an angel.
“The Police, led by Vladimir Gasparyan, keep themselves by carrying out the security service of Serzh Sargsyan and his administration,” Levon Zurabyan said.
