“… while this year 50 of the 55 parties presented their financial reports by April 1, and one party did it in a little delay. The CEC’s primary goal is to encourage parties towards accountability and the CEC has enough opportunities to make extensive use of the law in this direction,” he said.
Under the law, political parties must present their financial report, along with an audit report, to the CEC by April 1 every year.
The CEC will appeal to the Ministry of Justice in case any party fails to deliver their report in time.
This year, the Azerbaijan Democratic Party of Entrepreneurs, Azerbaijan National Movement Party, Patriotic Party, and Azerbaijan Revival and Progress Party did not submit their financial reports to the CEC.
